Case No 38406/2008 Order to provide details on how the SLR document was amended?

The petitioner has not raised the issue of the information not supplied by the Collector’s Office in his appeal petition dated 2.7.08 filed to the Commission, hence the Public Information Officer from the Collector’s Office have not been called today and the issue cannot be gone into it now. It is clear that the original Revenue records including the land assignment records are permanent records and must be available either at the
Collector’s Office or in the local archives or in other Taluk Office, when it is missed by these offices, it is clear now a proper action should be taken to locate the records and not the easy route that has been taken by merely denying the availability of records or to hide behind the old revenue rule for not supplying the information about Government poramboke from the Cultivation Register.
The Commission therefore directs the Collector Madurai to appoint a senior officer to locate the concerned records and supply the information asked for and resolve this issue properly, the relevant permanent records must be located and copies taken and supplied to the query raised by the petitioner and as to how the SLR have been corrected and how without any issuing authority. this has been done and also be supplied to him.
The information shall be supplied free of cost as per Section 7(6) as 30 days time limit have been exhausted and any payment made by the petitioner must be refunded to him. A compliance report must be filed before the Commission within 4 weeks of this order
