Case No 9709/2008 Order to provide permanent records from 1907 to 1947
The Commission therefore direct the Collector of Dharmapuri to:–
a) direct a senior officer to check where the records are, collect the information and supply it to the petitioner within 10 days of this order, and file the acknowledgment of the petitioner before the Commission;
b) call for the explanation of the Public Information Officer concerned for failure to supply the information within the time-limit prescribed by the Act, as to why the penalties as per the Act should not be imposed on him and file the explanation before the Commission within four weeks of this order supply the information free of cost as per provisions of Section 7(6) of the Act and refund any payment already made by the petitioner; and
d) see if any of the permanent records have been destroyed, have it enquired into and find out who is responsible for this and report action taken for the record of the Commission.
