Case No 8090/2008 Petition seeking documents from 1976 to 1985

The case was heard by the Commission earlier on 3-9-2007 in which the Commission ordered the public authority to furnish the information regarding the sanction of post on or before 20″ November 2007. But the public authority has not furnished the information.
At the enquiry, the public authority has informed the Commission
that their office files relating to the year 1976 to 1985 were not traceable and therefore they were not able to trace out the files and furnish the information. The public authority wanted further 15 days time to trace out the files to get the information. Accordingly, the Commission grants time upto 25″ November 2008 with a direction to make a thorough search in their office and furnish the information.

If they are not able to trace out and furnish the information, the public authority should file before the Commission on 26″ November 2008, a sworn affidavit to the effect that the files are not available or they have பின் destroyed and, if destroyed, produce Destruction Register for perusal by the Commission
