Case No 26863/2007 Order to the District Revenue Officer to find documents of 1917 and provide information

Even after this direction, the public authority have not furnished the required information. Hence he preferred another appeal to the Commission on 27-10-2007 and the case was taken up for hearing today (10″ January 2008).
During the enquiry, the District Revenue Officer, who attended the enquiry, informed the Commission that the concerned file is not available. the Commission directed the District Revenue Officer to trace out the file and furnish the information to the petitioner before 28-3-2008, obtain the acknowledgment of the petitioner and submit it to the Commission.
The information should be furnished free of cost and if any amount remitted by the petitioner, should be refunded as the information has not been supplied within 30 days.
The Collector of Erode is directed to call for the explanation of the concerned Public Information Officer to show cause as to why the maximum penalty prescribed under the Act should not be imposed on him for his failure to furnish information and submit it to the Commission within 15 days from the date of receipt of this order.
